SiveHost offers FREE content transfers (content migrations) for new accounts and accounts that are being upgraded that require a server move.
SiveHost is committed to making it easy to transfer your site to your new hosting account. We can transfer website files, databases, scripts, and one free domain registration transfer.
If you wish to transfer your domain registration to us (other than the free one), please see this article here.
This article covers:
- What qualifies me for a free transfer?
- What if I do not qualify for a free transfer, but I still want my sites moved?

What Qualifies Me for a Free Transfer?
SiveHost provides free transfers for new accounts within 30 days of signup and to newly upgraded accounts. Please note that downgraded accounts do not qualify for free transfers.
Furthermore, free migration services are only offered for "as-is" transfers of website content and data with no updates to the site configuration, aside from database connection details. Copying an existing site to a new domain or changing the URL of an existing site would NOT be free.
Depending on which type of account you sign up for, the number of free transfers we offer varies. Please refer to the chart below to see what is included in new packages.
|Account Type||Total Free Transfers||Full cPanel Transfers||Max. Manual Transfers|
1 While SiveHost can do unlimited cPanel to cPanel transfers, depending on the account type, you will have a limited number of manual transfers.
2 Full cPanel transfers include all domains, addon domains, subdomains, and cPanel settings. This will also include your email accounts and emails. Please note that this does require your old host's cPanel backup generator to be active.
(StartUp, GoBig, GoHuge)
Please submit the online form to initiate your website content transfers.
We can move your content and databases for one website or cPanel over from another host.
What If I do not Qualify for a Free Transfer, but I Still Want My Sites Moved?
Even if you do not qualify for a free transfer from our Migrations team, we can still move your sites. We will provide you with a price quote. To request a quote, please submit a ticket to our Migrations department. Please Note: We cannot provide quotes over our phone or chat support.
Are There Any Sites that SiveHost Simply cannot Move?
Unfortunately while SiveHost has a well trained and very experienced Migrations team, some sites cannot be moved due to technical limitations. Our current list of sites/hosts which we cannot transfer from is as follows:
- Website Tonight
- Google Sites
- Microsoft Office Live Small Business / Office 365
We also cannot transfer from hosts that do not allow access to your website files (typically by FTP) and/or databases and/or the data in those databases. Without access, we cannot copy and transfer your site.
For a more complete list of sites we can and cannot transfer from, see our list of common hosts.
There are three types of transfers that can occur when migrating your current hosting plan over to a new hosting plan. Please refer to the sections below for a more detailed explanation of inter-server transfers, intra-server transfers and manual transfers.
An intra-server transfer is a transfer between accounts on the same server. This includes upgrades such as a StartUp to GoBig, or GoHuge. These are "in-place" upgrades in which no files are moved and the limits of your account are simply raised.
Manual transfers include most things that are not cPanel to cPanel transfers. Additionally, this includes work such as splitting addon domains into cPanel accounts. A few examples are: transferring from a host without cPanel, moving from a Baby package to a Reseller and moving addon domains into new cPanel sub-accounts, moving addon domain to addon domain, moving cPanel account to addon domain, moving addon domain to cPanel account and anything that cannot be packaged and then restored with no additional work.
